You do not need to know a second language, but simply be interested in form and its transformation. We will be looking at and discussing aesthetics, defamiliarization, and publishing in the U.S. The workshop’s foundation will be theory and reading. Some texts include Transgressive Circulations, Ostranenie, and the works of Lyn Hejinian, Rosemarie Waldrop, Mónica de la Torre, Edgar Garcia, Cecilia Vicuña and others.

This is also a generative space. At least a half hour of each class will be dedicated to writing and thinking through creative practices
